About Us

Healing Today provides treatment for all, believing that for true healing, all aspects of the person must be accounted for: physical, emotional, and spiritual. Without a well rounded approach, little long-term healing will be accomplished.

Robert Buhrow, MA, LMFT is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. He has an extensive background working with Juveniles incarcerated in LA County Juvenile camps and with adult addicts while working with LA County Probation. He has worked with various clinics, working in the children-at-risk and family divisions. He has extensive experience working with psychotic disorders, eating disorders, and trauma victims, including the military returning from the Iraqi and Afghanistan regions. He also volunteers time with the Red Cross Mental Health division to assist victims in National Disasters. He offers free hours of counseling each week for Military soldiers and their family. He also responds to crisis calls when there is a bank robbery, shooting, or unexpected injury/death for multiple national Crisis units.

He has a medical research background with Green Hospital of Torrey Pines in San Diego.

An avid scuba diver and Instructor and surfer, he greatly values the intricate nature of the oceans and lake environs. To this cause, over the years he has advocated for better environmental controls, not just by governments but by individuals as well, contesting the need for plastic bags that kill wildlife and plug waterways and landfills, advocating conservation of electricity and water in the home, to recycling in his own home. He has assisted Scripps Institute of Oceanography researchers in studying various indigenous fish and shellfish in San Diego. As an international traveler, he has enjoyed living in Ireland, Germany, and Russia. He has been in multiple war zones, seeing first hand the devastation that war incurs on the populace, and the struggle to regain some semblance of normality.

He accredits his faith in providing the balance he needs in life.
